Activity 7 · Prototype by talking

Prototype Conversations

The fastest way to learn what a path is really like is to ask someone who's on it. A “life design interview” is just a friendly conversation where you collect someone's story — what they love, what they don't, and how they got there.

Why do this?

Job postings and articles tell you the polished version. Real people tell you the truth — and doing enough of these quietly opens doors that were never posted. The one rule: it's their story, not your job interview. If you catch yourself pitching, flip it back to them.

How to ask

“I'm really interested in what you do and would love to hear your story. Could I buy you a coffee sometime and learn about your experience?”

Good questions to bring:

Who will you talk to?
