Before you design anything, it helps to see where you're starting from. You'll take an honest reading of four life areas — Health, Work, Play, and Love — one at a time.
You can't tell where to steer until you know where you are. Rating these four areas surfaces your “red lights” — the places running low that deserve design attention. It also helps you separate real, workable problems from “gravity problems” — unactionable facts of life (like “poets don't earn much”) that you can only accept and design around, not solve.
Work through each area below. For every one you'll see how it works, a quick example, a few questions to sit with, then a gauge to set.
Now step back and look at all four gauges together.
